Stupid Ghost

Scott James Stambaugh

This is the first solo album by Twelve-Gauge Persuader alum Scott James Stambaugh. Great songwriting, and great performances are featured throughout. This is an Americana treasure trove.

Stupid Ghost is the culmination of nearly two years' recording with some of the area's very best musicians. Songs were culled from Stambaugh's live repertoire and showcase the some of the very best of his songwriting.

Stupid Ghost kicks off with what might be considered a lost Twelve-Gauge Persuaders' gem, That Girl's Already Gone. Originally intended for TGP's second album, the track kicks the album off with a bang. From there it's a journey of heartache and humor, poetic and real.

Great musicians contributed to this album, with Persuader Greg Bauman playing drums on nearly every track, and music veteran John Desjardins rounding out the rhythm section with his five string stand up bass on nearly every track except the TGP gem mentioned above. Guitarists Greg Bauman, Kevin Roberts and Joseph West absolutely kill throughout, providing tasteful, sometimes spooky, sometimes blistering guitar work. Heidi Holton's vocals appear on many tracks, with a true duet on Song, With Heron, which she co-wrote. Other great musicians include David Brown on percussion, George Lenzi on keys, Nick Sabia on keys, Paul DiMichael on piano, Sal Garza on violin, and Mary Giglio providing additional vocals.

This is truly a great album. It's rhythm and feel are as varied as they are familiar, from the Allman Brothers inflected Mobile to the haunting album closer The Very First Note. Check out samples and other audio and video at
